The Migration Conference 2020 Call for Papers

On behalf of the The Migration Conference Organizing Committee, we cordially invite you to the 8th conference in the series which will take place in South East European University, Tetovo, North Macedonia from 2 to 5 June 2020. The Conference is a forum for discussion where experts, young researchers and students, practitioners and policy makers working in the field of migration are encouraged to exchange their knowledge and experiences in a friendly and frank environment.

The conference is organised in thematic streams of parallel sessions focusing on migration, migrant populations, diasporas, migration policies, labour migrations, refugees, economic impacts, remittances as well as non-migrants and wider impact of human mobility on sending, transit and receiving societies. The scientific programme of TMCs usually comprise invited talks, oral presentations, poster presentations, exhibitons and workshops. The conference hosts about 150 parallel sessions and several distinguished keynote speakers joining us in intriguing plenary sessions.

The conference venue is South East European University, Tetovo, North Macedonia. The city of Tetovo and campus is about 45 minutes from the airport in capital Skopje. Tetovo is known for its ski resort and good for mountain hiking within a short distance to capital Skopje, N. Macedonia.

We are expecting an interesting and highly motivating meeting and would be happy if you participated in this conference.

Author Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

All papers presented at the conference must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another conference. Structured abstracts (upto 500 words) are invited for submission.

Structured long abstracts should state clearly the objectives, referring to relevant literature, methods, results and conclusions of the work, and should be no more than 500 words in length.
Up to 5-6 key references cited in the abstract can be given and these are not included in the word count.

  • A maximum of 500 words excluding references.
  • Microsoft Word documents only
  • A4-page formatted
  • 2.5cm margins on all sides
  • Single spaced
  • 12-point Times Roman font (the title, which must be 14-point Times Roman).

You are NOT required to submit full papers. There will be a limited number of poster sessions for which we invite submissions.


  • These must be in PowerPoint format, and have a maximum file size of 10Mb
  • Posters should be A1 format and printed on a single panel
  • The text should be around 25 point, with main headings no smaller than 36 point
  • Please avoid overloading your posters as cluttered posters are difficult to follow and extra space allows to highlight key points.
